Thank you so much to all the volunteers who helped make for a successful Work Party day at Telemark on Saturday Oct 26th. We had over 60 people out including many of the kids in the Competitive Youth programs. The rain held off and we were able to get lots of jobs done – firewood, painting, brush cutting, unpacking of some new rental skis, biathlon range maintenance… and more).
After a morning of work everybody enjoyed a free ‘Member Appreciation’ BBQ and then we confirmed a new Board of Directors at our AGM – A good and busy day indeed!

Now we are just waiting for snow!

Come join us on Saturday, Oct 26th to help Telemark get ready for winter.  We are hosting our annual volunteer work party from 9:00 AM until Noon at the Telemark Nordic Centre to…split firewood, paint, do trail maintenance, and accomplish a few other odd jobs before the season starts.  All are welcome!

We will break at noon for lunch. The Club will host a FREE BBQ with burgers, hot dogs, snacks and drinks for all.

The Telemark Annual General Meeting will take place right after lunch at 1pm.  The AGM is a great opportunity to meet the Telemark Board of Directors and find out what is going on in the Club.

Thanks to everyone – buyers sellers & volunteers – who supported the Team Telemark Ski Swap on Saturday Oct 19. it was a little damp but we had a wonderful and successful day raising about $5,000 for our Youth Competitive programs.

Our SKI SWAP is this weekend!  It is a great place to buy AND sell used equipment.  We are again holding our own XC specific swap at Kelowna Cycle. Everyone is welcome! If you are selling equipment, please complete our consignment form ahead of time. This year also accepting clothing and snowshoes!

Are you willing to serve your club by volunteering for a one-year term on the Board of Directors? The commitment required for a rewarding and enjoyable experience is to attend a 2-hour board meeting once per month where you will participate in discussions about everything skiing and snow.  Most board members will also take on an additional project to help develop and enhance our club. In accordance with the club bylaws all board positions are open for nominations and election each year.  This year we will have up to 5 vacancies due to retiring board members or currently unfilled positions: Treasurer and up to four Directors at Large.

Our long time Treasurer is retiring so we are particularly looking for a Treasurer to help guide the Club financially. Staff do most of the work so it does not take too much time but the Club should have a Treasurer with a strong accounting background and a desire to manage the Club’s finances.

Please submit nominations by email to nominations@telemarknordic.com.  Nominations close on Sunday Oct 6th, 2024 at midnight. In accordance with the club bylaws nominations will not be accepted from the floor during the AGM.

The AGM will take place at The Telemark Nordic Centre daylodge in person 1:00pm on Saturday October 26, 2024.
