Team Telemark Bottle Drive Fundraiser – Sunday Oct 3, 2021

September 23, 2021 Posted by Mike Edwards

Do you have $ recyclables sitting in your garage that you just can’t bear to look at anymore.  Let us take them for you for the 2nd annual Team Telemark Bottle Drive Fundraiser!

Team Telemark does many fundraising activities each year in order to have enough $ to make sure our Youth Programs run and to help pay for our fabulous coaches.  The bottle drive, raffle, ski waxing and donation campaign are a few of the activities. Last year our inaugural bottle drive raised $4300. We are hoping to beat that total this year!  Please help collect,  help sort or just give us your $ recyclable bottles and cans.

You can drop bottles anytime before Sunday Oct 3rd at 3651 Glencoe Road (West Kelowna). There are large apple bins to collect the cans/bottles to on the right side as you pull in the driveway. Just ‘drop and go’.  To make it easy for you we can also pick up your bottles.  Please ‘text’ 250-899-0354 to order a pick up

On October 3rd starting at 10am we will gather to sort and count the bottles at 3651 Glencoe Rd

Please reach out to Sonya Bridge with any questions Cell Ph: 902-440-5450 email: sonyabridge@gmail.com

Mt Law Fire Threatens Telemark

August 16, 2021 Posted by Mike Edwards

The Mount Law fire which started on the afternoon of Aug 15th near the visitor centre on the Coquihalla Connector came close to Telemark just to the South and East  of  the Panorama ski trail. The fire threatened a good portion of the Glenrosa neighborhood and many homes were under evacuation order.

Thanks to more favorable weather conditions and the hard work of BC Wildfire crews and local fire departments the fire is mainly under control now and no longer a threat to Telemark or most others in the area. Thanks to all the amazing workers who helped keep the fire under control.   It sounds like some people in the area below Telemark on the roads off of Glenrosa Rd have had some fire damage to their homes. Our sympathies go out to our Glenrosa neighbors who lost property.

If you come up to Telemark for a hike, bike ride or horseback ride this summer please remember the high fire hazard and be extra careful.

Spring 2021 Snow Melt

May 22, 2021 Posted by David

It’s the May long weekend and although some of Telemark’s athletes have been off to Sovereign for a day of skiing, the snow has been gone out of our stadium for a couple of weeks. Trails are drying up, the trees have leafed out and the flowers have made their spring appearance.

For a period of a month, noon time images from the stadium camera were saved showing just how quickly the transition from winter to spring occurs at Telemark.

Team Telemark Video

April 9, 2021 Posted by Mike Edwards

Check out the great end of season Team Telemark Race Programs video.  Despite not being able to go out of town for events and training the kids had a great season of fun skiing and competition within our own Club.  Our youth program ran successfully with real sense of  “Team” and lots of fun. Thanks to Greg and Finn Redman (Telemark Race Team parent and skier) for putting together this amazing video.

Thanks for a great season! Telemark day lodge closed April 1

March 31, 2021 Posted by Mike Edwards

The 2020-21 ski and snowshoe season is now coming to an end at Telemark.  Its been a great season!  Telemark hit new records for membership and day use thanks to all the wonderful skiers and snowshoers in the Central Okanagan and beyond.  We had some of the best conditions ever, a nice long season and our programs ran succesfully. It was a challenging year due to COVID restrictions but it all worked in the end.  We hope to be back to normal operations next year.

We will be closing the Telemark day lodge for the season at the end of the day Thursday April 1st so rentals and day passes will no longer be available.  We will still groom the ski  trails for another few days on a modified schedule and skiing will still be possible.  There will be no staff on site so make sure you have a trip plan and someone knows where you are – Ski at your own risk!    There is still good snow coverage on most trails with very good conditions on the fresh grooming in the morning. There are some signs of spring on the trails with some dirt and debris and a couple of thin spots.  As the warmer weather takes hold and we groom less the conditions will deteriorate.  So get out skiing now while you still can and…. ski with care! Check our Trail Conditions webpage for the latest updates. Snowshoeing is still good up higher but some of the lower, treed, sun exposed trails have some bare or icy spots so snowshoeing is no longer recommended.

We are looking forward to seeing you all next year.
