Telemark Opening Day – Saturday Dec 14th

December 13, 2019 Posted by Mike Edwards

With a little more snow falling this last week we have been busy preparing the trails and we are now ready and excited to open. The daylodge will be open and staffed regularly and the trails groomed for skiing starting Saturday December 14th. The conditions are very good on most trails but we still do not have mid winter conditions yet.  Not all trails are open and early season conditions prevail.  This means that the snow may be thin in places and dirt, rocks and other hazards may be present.  Please use caution. Snowshoeing is possible but more snow is needed.

1/2 $ price day passes for the first weekend.

Our opening dates have varied over the years.  Last year was quite late but this year is pretty close to average.  Have a look at the graphs below which show our average opening dates, ski days per season and closing dates.  See any trends?

Closing Date Since 1989

Let’s Help our Friends at Larch Hills!

October 17, 2019 Posted by Mike Edwards

Larch Hills Nordic is a finalist in Kraft Heinz Project Play 2019. They could win $250,000 towards a trail lighting project but they need the entire ski community to get behind them and vote.  In 2016 Canada’s ski community got behind Nakkertok Nordic’s Project Play bid and they won $250,000 for a snow making project.  We can do the same now to help Larch Hills. Helping each other can only make skiing stronger in BC and it builds good karma too.

Voting takes place on the Kraft Heinz Project Play website from 9am Friday Oct 18th to 9am Sunday Oct 20th. Multiple votes are allowed and encouraged.  Please consider spending up to an hour this weekend putting in as many votes as you can.
