New Year’s Day Challenge on Skis January 1, 2026

December 29, 2025 Posted by Vanessa Hair

New Year’s Day challenge Results

There’s no better way to welcome the New Year than getting outside, moving your body, and sharing the trail with your friends and family. Join us at Telemark Nordic Club on January 1 at 11:00 AM for a fun, feel-good 1 hour skiing challenge designed to get everyone moving together.

The challenge is simple:
How many laps of our 2.5 km beginner-friendly loop can you complete in one hour?

Entry = one canned food donation
Your donation is your “race fee,” and all ages and abilities are welcome—classic or skate skiers. Kids, beginners, seasoned skiers… this one’s for everyone!

Event Details:

  • Start time: 11:00 AM
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Bring one canned food item
  • Rentals available at the Daylodge
  • Free entry for season pass holders/members, and day users with a food donation. However day users must purchase a Telemark day pass – $20.

We have 85 timing chips available. To secure your spot, please arrive 30 minutes early at the stadium area to exchange your canned food item for your timing chip. At 11:00am when the horn goes, everyone starts together! If you finish a lap before the 45-minute mark, go for another, as long as you’re back within the hour.

Community Challenge
At the end, we’ll tally everyone’s distance and see just how far we traveled together and stick around for prizes!

No pre-registration required. Just show up, bring a donation, and ski into the New Year with us!

Telemark Opening for the Season on Saturday Dec 27th

December 9, 2025 Posted by Vanessa Hair

Updated Saturday Dec 27th.

We have been receiving little bits of snow over the last few days so that conditions are slowly but surely improving and we are able to open for the season. Yaay!!

While the snow coverage is good, please keep in mind that we still have “Early Season” conditions. This means that there may be uneven surfaces and other hazards – there will not be a track-set everywhere and not all trails are open…but…all things considered the skiing is quite good and we welcome you to come up for ski.

Snowshoeing will also be open but the snowpack is thin and there may be bare/thin spots in the thick trees.

On Sunday December 28 starting at 11am please join us by the outdoor fire pit for free s’mores and hot chocolate to enjoy and celebrate the start of the season.

We are offering all xc ski and snowshoe day passes at a 50% discount for opening day.
