We closed our doors for the season on Sunday March 17th but we groomed a couple more times and some ‘keeners’ were skiing for another week or so after that. The last grooming was on Saturday March 23rd. With continued warm weather and deteriorating snow conditions we are no longer able to groom. Skiing and snowshoeing are no longer recommended and we are fully closed.
Thanks to all our season passholders and day users for another wonderful season. It was a strange one with a later than normal start and a bit of an early end. Ultimately there were some great conditions this season and all our programs and events went well. It looks like ‘El Nino’ is ending this spring and we will be back to a more normal pattern of snow and weather next year.
Telemark is available for hiking, biking, dog walking and horseback riding in the summer as a public facility of Recreation Sites and Trails BC. Everybody is welcome and there is no charge. Trail use is best after the snow is all gone and the trails have dried up. This is usually by sometime in May. The daylodge is closed during the off season and there re no services available. The washrooms are always open.
See you next season!
Telemark Season Ending Sunday March 17th!
While there is still some good skiing & snowshoeing to be had at Telemark the exceptionally warm weather for the next few days will deteriorate the snow conditions quickly. So, sadly we have decided to close for the season after Sunday March 17th. Come on out for the last couple of days of the season.
For the keeners out there skiing & snowshoeing will still be possible after March 17th on some trails and we will do limited grooming where we can safely do so for another few days. The main part of the daylodge will be closed but the downstairs will remain open for an other week. The trail lights for night skiing will be turned off for the season after Friday March 15th.
Spring Conditions! We now have full-on spring conditions. This means there may be some hazards such as – bare patches, dirt & wet spots and inconsistent snow on both the xc ski and snowshoe trails. The best time to ski will be in the morning before the snow softens too much. In the evening when the temperatures cool the trails may be icy but still skiable for the experienced skier. Ski & snowshoe at your own risk!
It has been a bit of a strange season with a slow start, less snow than normal, big temperature fluctuations and a bit of an early ending but, in the end, we had a good season with some really great conditions. We pulled off all our events and made it past mid-March. ‘El Nino’ is now over and we should expect a longer more normal season next year.
Check our Trail Conditions webpage to see the latest grooming and conditions.
Congratulations Telemark Raffle Winners!
The 2024 Team Telemark Annual Prize Raffle draw was held at the the Telemark daylodge on Sunday March 10th.
Thank you to our generous community members for purchasing tickets (some of you for many years!) Thank you to the local businesses who donated prizes and to the athletes for selling tickets. Congratulations to the lucky winners. 2,020 tickets were sold x $5 each for a total of $10,100 raised (BC Gaming License: 139108). Proceeds help our young athletes achieve their best by offsetting team costs not covered by athlete registrations, coaching, waxing at races & team van expenses. The raffle is the largest annual fundraiser for the program and we are deeply grateful for the continued club and community support. A club volunteer will be in touch to arrange getting the prizes to the winners.

Track Attack Championships Feb 24-25.
Telemark is hosting the Teck Track Attack Championships Feb 24-25. This event will see 275 kids ages 9-12yrs from all across BC come to Telemark for a weekend of fun competition.
It takes a lot of volunteers to host an event like this and we could still use a few more. We hope you have some time to volunteer and help make this a successful event. There are many different roles. Please go to our Volunteer sign up page through this link or… use the QR code in the poster.
It will be quite busy at Telemark that weekend but the event does not take up very much space on the trails and we will remain fully open for public/member skiing and snowshoeing that weekend with just some minor disruptions to trails access.
Welcome Back Red Moose Immigration Services as a Club Sponsor
Telemark would like to welcome back Red Moose Immigration Services as a Club sponsor for their fifth year.
Nicole and Robert Kleemaier of Red Moose Immigration Services in Kelowna are avid cross-country skiers and have been long time, active Telemark members. They wanted to give something back to the Club and have become a dedicated sponsor. You may have seen their banner as the backdrop for the season pass photo this year or outside on the fence. You will definitely see Nicole and Robert around the trails in their distinctive Red Moose outfits.
Red Moose supports foreign nationals in their efforts to get a visitor visa, study permit, work permit or permanent resident permit. They also help employers who want to hire those individuals. If you need these kinds of services please think of Nicole and Robert and Red Moose Immigration Services.
