Telemark Receives $250K Capital Grant for New Grooming Machine!

December 18, 2019 Posted by Mike Edwards

Great News! Telemark received an early Christmas present in the form of a $250,000 BC Gaming Capital Project Grant.   The grant combined with our savings and a little fundraising will allow us to purchase a brand new snowcat grooming machine this year. Telemark already has a reputation for great grooming but the new machine will give us even better and more reliable grooming for the next 10 years at a lower overall cost.  The funding  will allow us to invest more in the Club facilities and programs over the next few years and will be a benefit to all Club members and the entire Central Okanagan Community.  A special thanks goes to the Province BC for this funding support.  Full Press Release

Telemark Opening Day – Saturday Dec 14th

December 13, 2019 Posted by Mike Edwards

With a little more snow falling this last week we have been busy preparing the trails and we are now ready and excited to open. The daylodge will be open and staffed regularly and the trails groomed for skiing starting Saturday December 14th. The conditions are very good on most trails but we still do not have mid winter conditions yet.  Not all trails are open and early season conditions prevail.  This means that the snow may be thin in places and dirt, rocks and other hazards may be present.  Please use caution. Snowshoeing is possible but more snow is needed.

1/2 $ price day passes for the first weekend.

Our opening dates have varied over the years.  Last year was quite late but this year is pretty close to average.  Have a look at the graphs below which show our average opening dates, ski days per season and closing dates.  See any trends?

Closing Date Since 1989

Come join the fun on Saturday, Nov 2nd and help us get ready for winter.  We are hosting a work party from 9:00 AM until noon to…split firewood,  do some trail maintenance  and accomplish a few other odd jobs before the snow flies.

We will break at noon for a BBQ Social.  The Club will provide drinks, fresh fruit and of course BBQ hotdogs, and hamburgers.
