The Telemark Nordic Club suffered a very poor 2025-26 xc ski & snowshoe season due to the warm temperatures and low snow throughout the winter. We opened late and closed several weeks early making this the shortest and worst season in the Club’s 48 year history. When we were open, many people didn’t come up to Telemark to xc ski & snowshoe because of the lack of a real winter.
Roughly 1/3 of Telemark’s annual revenue comes from public day use (trail passes, rentals, lessons etc). This revenue was down by 80% compared to a normal year. We rely on this revenue and without it Telemark is now critically short on $ to get the Club through the summer- to pay our fixed costs – get ready for next season – accomplish new projects – pay staff. The Club is doing what it can to mitigate.
– Cutting costs (seasonal staff layoffs – delaying projects & maintenance, etc.)
– Finding new sponsors/partners
– Selling 2026-27 season passes early (June 2026)
– Fundraising!
This is where you come in! We are hoping to rally the Telemark xc ski & snowshoe community and raise up $30,000 through our “Uplift Telemark” community fundraising campaign to help us get through to next season to …”Stabilize for Today & Strengthen for Tomorrow”. Please donate what you can.
The best way to donate is through our ONLINE SHOPIFY PLATFORM. Please contact us (250-707-5925 or mike.edwards@telemarknordic.com) if you have questions, would like to donate a specific $ amount or donate using a different payment method.
Concurrently, we are continuing to fundraise for our Panorama Cabin Project. If you prefer to donate for this specific project and receive a tax receipt, donating to the cabin project is great way to “Uplift Telemark”.
