Telemark Season Ending Sunday March 17th!

March 15, 2024 Posted by Mike Edwards

While there is still some good skiing & snowshoeing to be had at Telemark the exceptionally warm weather for the next few days will deteriorate the snow conditions quickly. So, sadly we have decided to close for the season after Sunday March 17th. Come on out for the last couple of days of the season.

For the keeners out there skiing & snowshoeing will still be possible after March 17th on some trails and we will do limited grooming where we can safely do so for another few days. The main part of the daylodge will be closed but the downstairs will remain open for an other week. The trail lights for night skiing will be turned off for the season after Friday March 15th.

Spring Conditions! We now have full-on spring conditions. This means there may be some hazards such as –  bare patches, dirt & wet spots and inconsistent snow on both the xc ski and snowshoe trails. The best time to ski will be in the morning before the snow softens too much.  In the evening when the temperatures cool the trails may be icy but still skiable for the experienced skier. Ski & snowshoe at your own risk!

It has been a bit of a strange season with a slow start, less snow than normal, big temperature  fluctuations and a bit of an early ending but, in the end, we had a good season with some really great conditions. We pulled off all our events and made it past mid-March.  ‘El Nino’ is now over and we should expect a longer more normal season next year.

Check our Trail Conditions webpage to see the latest grooming and conditions.
