The Telemark Skill Development Program – Ski League follows Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Model.
Bunnyrabbits (ages 3 to 5 accompanied by a parent – $70)Saturdays 10:30am, January and February
Led by coaches at Telemark, children and parents will ski together exploring our ski playground, kid friendly trails, and playing games all while learning new skills. Parent involvement is essential to ensure that children enjoy the sessions. If the child is 5 or under the season’s pass is free.
Jack Rabbits ((ages 6 to 13) JR I – $80, JR II-IV and Adventurers – $90, Saturdays 10:30am for Jack Rabbit I (beginner); Tuesday nights 6:30 and Saturdays 10:30 Jack Rabbit II-IV and Adventurers
This program is geared towards kids just learning the sport, as well as those wishing to become more technically proficient. Our ultimate goal is to instill a lifelong love for the sport of cross country skiing. With all the Jackrabbit levels the emphasis is on learning ski technique through a variety of fun activities. Included in the program are a treasure hunt day, fun racing events and an end of year windup ‘ski tournament’. Both programs have booklets that track progress from year to year. Adventurers is for children who want to continue Nordic sports in a non-competitive manner after completing Jack Rabbits.
A youth or family season’s pass is required.
Ski League Rental Equipment
Rental equipment is available for the ski league lessons. The cost for renting skis, boots and poles for the Bunnyrabbits and Jackrabbit 1 lessons for the season is $ 48.00. The cost of the Jackrabbit 2-4 and Adventurers is $ 70.00. The rentals purchased are for the lessons only, and if you come to ski on other days you will have to pay the normal rental rates. If you rent under this program the skis are only for Ski League lessons and not for sessions of other programs like Racing and Biathlon. You can also rent equipment for the ski league lessons each time you come, but you must pay at the office before the rental skis will be handed out.
