Grooming Wet Snow for Cross Country Skiing

Why does grooming Nordic trails either stop or get poor when snow gets wet. Click here for a short article that explains why.

Waxing Cross Country Skis

Why do you wax “waxless” skis? Why are my skis sticking in wet snow? Do I put grip wax on skate skis? There are always many questions about how to wax the different types of cross country skis. Click here for a short article on Waxing Nordic Skis.

Telemark Women’s Ski Group

We are endeavoring to start a women’s ski group, run by women, at Telemark. This is for those who are looking for someone to ski with on our trails. It is more fun, and much safer to ski with a partner. If you are looking for someone to ski with there will be a sign-up sheet posted in the chalet.

Grooming Demonstration Day – Saturday, January 31

What is a Ginzu groomer? Why does grooming stop when the snow is wet? Why does grooming cost $ 275 per hour? How does Nordic grooming differ from Alpine grooming? On Saturday, January 31 at 1:00 pm there is a grooming demonstration session. During this informal event all the Telemark grooming machines and tools will be parked by the timing hut, and the very, very experienced Telemark grooming team will be available to show you the equipment, and answer any questions that you have. Everyone is welcome. Come and learn about this very specialized department at your club.

Press Release January 14, 2015 – CRIS Initiative Begins at Telemark

The Community Recreational Initiative Society has started a program that will allow disabled snowshoers and skiers to use the Telemark trails, with the help of able bodied volunteers. You will see the participants on the ski and snowshoe trails over the winter. Thanks go to members Barry and Corrie Allen for their hard work getting the project done. We are in need of a wheel chair for these skiers. If anyone has one that they would like to donate contact Ron at tccsc@telus.net . Click here for the press release.
